Another widely held belief is that servers need to be built on really powerful and expensive hardware. This is true of dedicated equipment intended for high end power users (for example ISP's and hosting companies) however you can happily run a server on just about any PC or Laptop.

A 1Ghz Pentium III PC with 1 gigabyte of memory will easily cope with hundreds of simultaneous static Web page requests. This would be more than adequate for a commercial brochure site with a few hundred items plus a mail server. So if you are interested in establishing an online presence and like the idea of having your own server then you may already have the hardware and we would be pleased to build your server on it.
